Eurostar debuts e320 trains on Brussels route
Eurostar has today previewed its new e320 train on the London-Brussels route in advance of its introduction into service on Sunday. The arrival of the new trains on the Brussels service is part of a £1 billion programme of investment in Eurostar’s fleet, stations and service which included the purchase of 17 new e320 trains and the refurbishment of its original trains.

Eurostar has reported a positive first quarter in 2017, with sales revenues up 15 per cent year-on-year to £232 million. The growth was underpinned by a strong performance in the business travel and overseas markets.

Works begins on Virgin East Coast Azuma fleet ahead of 2018 debut
Virgin Trains’ customers are a step closer to new trains as work begins on the Azuma (Class 800) fleet, due to enter service on the east coast in 2018. Work on the bodyshells is taking place in Kasado, Japan, before the trains arrive in the UK to be built by Hitachi’s manufacturing team in the north-east.
China-based MTR signs on for South West Trains franchise
The British department for transport has announced First MTR South Western Trains has been awarded the South Western franchise. First MTR is a partnership between China-based MTR and First Group. The new organisation will take over from Stagecoach, which currently runs South Western Trains services across south west England to and from London Waterloo.
Eurotunnel welcomes 25 millionth truck
At approximately 04:00 this morning, Eurotunnel welcomed the 25 millionth truck to use its Le Shuttle Freight service. The service began on July 25th, 1994.
